McKenzie is a fiber artist and textile designer from too many places to pick one, influenced by all. Raised as neither a city or a country dweller and educated with degree in Fibers from the Savannah College of Art …

McKenzie Smith is a Savannah based artist, SCAD Alumni, focusing in handwoven and dyed textiles. Her pieces and yarns are hand dyed using a variety of expressive dye techniques before being woven on one of her 3 AVL compu-dobby looms. Currently specializing in production weaving baby wearing textiles for a small company, her personal commission work extends to different types of housewares (blankets, table linens etc) and wearables (scarves, robes, etc). The careful attention and purpose her craft takes carries over into life otherwise; when not weaving, she can likely be found building an intentionally paced life, working on home renovations with her partner and animals, knitting and generally creating as a hobby as well as a profession.
